10. International transfers of personal information
Elitelia operates internationally and works with entities, clients, advisers and service providers in different countries.
Personal information may therefore be accessed from or transferred to countries outside the country in which it was originally collected.
Where personal information subject to the GDPR is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism where required, such as:
- an adequacy decision;
- Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission; or
- another legally recognised safeguard or derogation.
Where UK data protection law applies, appropriate UK transfer mechanisms will be used where required.
Other jurisdictions may impose their own requirements for international data transfers, which will be followed where applicable.
You may contact us if you would like further information regarding the safeguards relevant to a particular transfer.
11. How long we retain personal information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to comply with applicable legal, contractual, tax, accounting, compliance and dispute-resolution requirements.
Retention periods may vary between Elitelia entities and jurisdictions.
As a general approach:
Initial enquiries that do not become engagements
Information will normally be retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful interaction, unless there is a legitimate reason to retain it longer or you have requested its deletion and no overriding retention requirement applies.
Client and mandate records
Relevant client, contractual, transaction and professional records may generally be retained for approximately 7 years following the end of the relationship, or longer where required by applicable law, regulatory requirements, limitation periods or the nature of the transaction.
KYC, AML and compliance records
These may be retained for the period required by applicable law, which can commonly extend for 5 to 10 years after the relevant relationship or transaction depending on the jurisdiction.
Accounting and tax records
These are retained for the statutory period applicable to the relevant Elitelia entity.
Marketing information
Marketing information is generally retained until:
- you withdraw consent;
- you unsubscribe;
- there is no longer a valid reason to contact you; or
- applicable law requires deletion.
Limited suppression information may be retained after an opt-out so that we can ensure you are not contacted again contrary to your request.
Website and security information
Technical and security logs may generally be retained for up to 12 months, unless a longer period is reasonably required for security, fraud prevention or investigation purposes.
Cookies
Cookie retention periods are described in the Cookie Policy.
Legal claims
Information relevant to a dispute or potential legal claim may be retained until the applicable limitation period and related proceedings have expired.
At the end of the relevant retention period, information will be deleted, anonymised or otherwise securely disposed of where reasonably practicable.

Individuals in the United Kingdom may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Individuals in the European Economic Area may contact the relevant national data-protection authority.

Subject: Privacy Request
Please describe the request clearly enough for us to identify the relevant information and processing.

Elitelia does not sell lists of client or enquiry information to third parties in exchange for monetary payment.
However, our use of advertising technologies such as Google Ads, Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag may involve disclosures of online identifiers and website activity that can be treated as “sale”, “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under the broad definitions used by certain U.S. state privacy laws.
Where those laws apply, eligible users may have the right to opt out of such processing.
Applicable opt-out choices may be exercised through:
- Cookie Settings;
- a recognised browser-based opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, where legally required; or
- contacting privacy@elitelia.com.
Elitelia will honour legally valid opt-out preference signals where required by applicable law.
However, where advertising, analytics or similar online technologies are enabled, certain disclosures may potentially constitute “sharing” or “sale” under the broad definitions used by California law.
Where applicable, eligible users may exercise an opt-out through our Cookie Settings, a legally recognised opt-out preference signal such as the Global Privacy Control, or another method made available on the website.
Where the CCPA applies, Elitelia will honour legally valid opt-out preference signals as required.

17. Automated decision-making and profiling
Elitelia may use technology to organise, categorise or analyse information, improve website performance, support compliance processes or assist internal workflows.
Elitelia does not generally intend to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on clients solely through automated processing without meaningful human involvement.
Where automated decision-making or profiling is used in a manner that creates specific statutory rights or disclosure obligations, the relevant individuals will receive additional information as required by applicable law.

When you interact with an Elitelia profile, we may receive information such as:
